Specially for those with no chills

Wait...
Did you just open this write up to actually read on Patience. Whao! How appealing to see you here. ‘Author grins’

I may not know you in person, may not have known what was going on in your mind, heart and life generally before you choose to open this write up, but what I am sure of is;

"You are the richest person in the world right now"

How? You said. Well, no man, woman, old, young, thin, big, black or white gives himself to reading, accumulation of knowledge and wisdom in order to approach life better and differently ever remain poor. He finds daily, a better way of doing what he used to do before and if your present appears to be better than your previous days, you are a success or an emerging success.

“Can’t it just come like ASAP?”
“Why is it taking so long to get here, I mean it was just in my grasp but lost sight of it again?”
“Another error? I can’t keep doing this!”
“It’s taking like forever!”
“Oh I can’t wait no more!”
“Argh, I give Up!”

TIME!

We often presume the time tiks faster than we expect but in it’s actual form, it moves slowly like 1...2...3... on and on. We (humans) were able to assume the time by counting in seconds. This should be the easiest and convenient form of calculating time in our world. But still it seems to be not enough for some of us. Have you ever wished the day was longer than 24hours and the sun stood still longer or the night didn’t elapse so soon? Why have so much to do during the day only to rest your head at about 10pm and wake up 5am but still it felt as though you were out for just 5 minutes?

The phenomenon of time being faster when you are bored, less engaged or having fun with friends & family and the difference of time being slow when you are actively engaged especially upon a project or assignment at work, school or some place you can’t wait to leave is a mystery unlocked. Psychologist concluded that people do indeed perceive time differently depending on their mental state and the activities they’re engaged in. It’s all in the mind.

PATIENCE!

You would feel better if it all worked in your favours and according to your plans right? ‘Bash!’ It didn’t once, twice, many times, up until now. It still isn’t as you planned it.

“Get a Law degree at the age of 10, steady job immediately after my first degree, masters by 11, build a mansion and become a CEO at 12, get married to the love of my life at 13, give birth to a set of twin at 14 and seal it up, become world richest at 15 and continue to achieve so much globally till I can’t breathe”

Cool plans right ?😎

This could have been you and I but economy came through, death seized joy, circumstances unforeseen came knocking you out of fantasy. I mean imagine if everyone has the same dreams and got achieved at the same time. Earth wouldn’t be what it is now.

Let’s learn a lesson from the Sun and her bride the Moon. Different shapes, different type of light with different brightness, different time to spring out and shine at different places. It takes almost 2 years on rare occasions before both source of light meet at one particular place on the surface of the earth.

Also let’s learn from fruits. The same tree, taking the same nutrient, the same carbon dioxide, the same photosynthesis, the same season to produce fruits, but one fruit ripes before the other.

Patience is a hard teacher. It teaches us to value time and the worth of what we are waiting upon. For example you are tired & hungry and mum promises you a special delicacy. While waiting, knowing it’s going to take a while before she calls out ‘food is ready’. You still waited. Right there we learn;
1. To value Food.
2. To value the time taken to prepare the meal.
3. To value the opportunity you having someone take care of your meal.
4. To value the worth of survival. and many more.

“If it is worthless, it’s doesn’t deserve the time you are giving it”

The beauty in patience is found in keeping track of time and still actively being engaged in other things. The sun and moon has its special time to shine but it doesn’t disturb the tree from sapping quality nutrient through its roots from the ground while waiting for a ray of photosynthesis. The fruits are still budding but doesn’t stop the farmer from other farming activities. He doesn’t seat with his eyes fixed on the tree till the time it brings forth a fruit. That’s a waste of life. As the saying goes;

“Time wasted is Life wasted”

You deserve everything you wished for, yes! But life most times gives at the moment what you deserve not what you desire in the moment .

You have been waiting for a promotion (desires) but it’s not forth coming! Doesn’t mean you don’t deserve it. No! Actually you do but the right time matters.

“All my mates are outside the country living the life you desired” but is it your time to shine yet, no! The sun as slow as it rises, has its special beauty from the moment you sight a ray of its majestic light till when it blooms brighter in the skies up until it sets at eve.

You don’t have to always be like every other person getting goals and achieving alot while you are still waiting. When you arrive in your own time, guess what? You won’t be in any competition shining in the skies.

Colonel Harland David Sanders

Colonel Sanders was an American business man (1890–1980) whom I admire.

He is best known as the founder of the fast food chicken restaurant chain Kentucky Fried Chicken (also known as KFC). He didn’t at an early age supposedly become the founder of what we know to be KFC today. As a matter of fact His first break through in KFC was at the age of 62 (1952) when he opened his first KFC restaurant.

Now take a look at Sanders Various Jobs

1906 (age16) — Sanders was a street car conductor and later wagoner.

1906 (age16) — Sanders enlisted in the US Army and was honourably discharged in 1907.

1907 (age 17) — Sanders was a blacksmith at a workshop resigned to become a cleaner at a train station and later became a fireman (steam engine stoker)

1910/11 (age 20/21) — He studied and practiced Law.

1916 (age 26) — Life Insurance marketer.

1920 (age 30) — He founded a ferry boat business and became the secretary being he was a minority shareholder.

1922 (age 32) — He became the secretary at the Chamber of Commerce in Columbus, Indiana. He resigned owning to the fact that he wasn’t good enough as a secretary.

1923 (age 33) — He worked as a salesman for the Michelin Tire Company.

1924 (age 34) — He managed a service station at Nicholasville.

1930–1952 (age 40–62) — He entered the catering industry.

1952 (age 62) — Kentucky Fried Chicken came alive.

All through those years, Sanders earnings were little and not enough to cater for his entire family and as such had to change location, move the family all to get cheaper housing at affordable rates.

His journey to becoming a millionaire (in US dollars $) wasn’t at the earliest of expected age but rather at age 62. Not as though you are opposed to achieve more than this at an early age, but give patience a chance to cause you emerge bigger than your visions.

  • It’s okay to Grow Slow.
  • It’s okay to not have the best fantasies come alive at age 30
  • It’s okay to make mistakes
  • It’s okay to get fired at your only source of income. (You will get better)
  • It’s okay to not achieve all you planned earlier. (Sanders got it at 62)
  • It’s okay to fail once or twice (Thomas Edison failed 1000 times before the light bulb came through).
  • It’s okay to be single at age 30.
  • It’s okay to marry late.
  • It’s okay to have a child at God’s time.
  • It’s okay to be broken down.
  • It’s okay to fall down (but don’t stay there on the ground)

Always Get back up but exercise more patience.

Don’t permit pressure as shared in “GRASP OF PRESSURE” https://link.medium.com/oKEcifPjBZ

So here is a rule to ponder on:

“No P with P”

It means no “Pressure" with “Patience”

If you are chilling for the right time, don’t pressure patience. Just echo in your mind #NoPressurewithPatience.

Now applaud yourself for taking your time to read through this write up. I believe you deserve some treats for this.

Breathe, pray, relax and enjoy the process of emerging as a star. You are already the best of what you should be and can be better but you need to give heed to patience. Don’t rush it, don’t push it.

To my esteemed readers always remember you are the BEST OF YOURSELF NOW and YOU DESERVE MORE

But #NoPressurewithPatience.

Thank you for reading.
